A marabu is a beautiful bird, and exceptionally clever too. They are mega scavengers, keeping things clean and neat in cities like Kampala. In Cape Town, one does not see them frequently, unfortunately. This one is a tiny plastic one, part of a series of highly collectable figurines issued by Coca-Cola and Fanta in the seventies or thereabouts. One swallow does not a summer make, nor one marabu a collection; so I am no collector, only a lover of marabus.
